Seven Killed in Jordan Church Shooting
At least seven people have been killed and 10 others wounded after gunmen opened fire during a funeral procession at the Hamoud church in Jordan's Karak governorate, according to state-run media and official sources. The attack occurred as dozens of mourners gathered for the ceremony when two unidentified assailants arrived in a vehicle, entered the church compound, and began shooting with a rifle and a pistol. Witnesses reported that the gunmen fired for several minutes before fleeing the scene. Security forces have deployed to the area and are currently pursuing the suspects. No group has claimed responsibility, and Jordanian authorities have not released further information regarding the identity or motive of the attackers. Such incidents are rare in Jordan, which is home to a significant Christian community. Authorities are continuing their investigation while some of the wounded remain in critical condition.
