Ukraine's official air raid alert application was apparently hacked overnight, resulting in users across the country receiving false notifications of radiation, chemical, and street fighting threats. According to the Ukrainian Air Force and confirmed via statements on their official Telegram channel, the app was likely subjected to hostile interference and warned citizens that there was no radiation threat. The Digital Transformation Ministry and security technology company Ajax Systems, co-developers of the Air Alert app, are investigating the breach. The Air Force urged people to remain calm and rely on verified official updates. Regional authorities echoed these assurances and advised residents to disregard the alarming notifications. The Ukrainian Central Intelligence Agency also confirmed technical failures and encouraged the public to use alternative sources for threat information.
