Russian Strikes Hit Ukraine Amid Ceasefire End
Russian strikes overnight have severely damaged energy infrastructure across four regions in Ukraine, resulting in widespread power outages for hundreds of thousands, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Emergency power cuts have been imposed nationwide, including in the capital Kyiv, where electricity is reportedly unavailable for most of the day. Water supplies have also been disrupted. Additionally, a separate Russian attack claimed two lives, including a 13-year-old girl, in the Vinnytsia region. These attacks coincide with the imminent end of a humanitarian ceasefire in Ukraine's Kherson region, which had enabled civilians to evacuate the Russian-occupied city of Oleshky. The ceasefire, scheduled to conclude Sunday night, has largely held locally, but hostilities and strikes have continued in other areas of Ukraine. Authorities are working throughout the day to restore services in affected regions.
